Designing Units & Courses

 

1. What is a performance assessment? Give one example for earth science, life science, physical science, and S-T-S.

2. Write an objective for each of the levels in Bloom's taxonomy in one of the following content areas: rocks, electricity, ecosystem.

3. Write an assessment item for each of the objectives you designed.

4. Select a chapter from a science book of your choice and create eight assessment items using the Florida Assessment Project plan.

5. Prepare concept maps for one of the following:

a. a chapter from a high school biology, chemistry, earth science, or physics text.

b. a potential mini-unit on electric circuits, physical and chemical changes, reproduction, erosion, ground water pollution.
